Situation/Case Study:
TEACHER ROLE/RESPONSIBILITY

Description:
This teacher came from another state in another part of the country. She had spent 18 years as a teacher in this other city. She felt a sense of shock and mourning soon after her arrival here. She knew she was great when she was with her students, but nothing else seemed to make sense. She had trouble dealing with details and differences in policy between the two systems, having to "prove" herself. She describes herself now as feeling like she is coming out of a serious illness, still somewhat disoriented. She feels change is good, but much better to handle when a person has some control over it and can direct it.
