Situation/Case Study:

A bright and basically good child has developed "an attitude" lately. The teacher thinks it is related to his trying to impress some of the girls in class. His work has fallen off. The parents were at conferences demanding to know why he didn't have an A instead of a B+. The parents began knit picking, blaming the teacher for the fact that he is bored in school, that the school is harsh and threatening. When an incident relating to cheating was brought up they claimed that it wasn't his fault. They were basically very defensive and aggressive to the teacher.
