Situation/Case Study:

A kindergartner in my classroom often complains of feeling sick when we gather for opening/shared reading time. She makes a miraculous recovery when it is time to go outside or she can choose own activity. She has difficulty attending during group time and seems to be seeking attention constantly. The parents said she gets bored if she is not involved and doesn't like having books just read to her one after another. They want her to be a doctor so they read a lot of non-fiction and take her along to all appointments.
