FTP

Ftp is a user interface to the File Transfer Protocol. Ftp copies files over a network connection between the local host and a remote host.


1. From the QVT terminal session Window –
· On the menu bar left click NetApps or Apps
· Highlight and left click the FTP option.

    2. The FTP window appears –
    · On the menu bar left click FILE
    · Highlight and left click Open

    3. The FTP login window appears –
    · Type admin under host
    · Your admin username under User and
    · Your admin password under Password
    · Leave the IP port with the default value
    · Click OK

    4. The login window is closed and you are back in the FTP window.
    · The top left side box shows your local host (your Computer) Directory information. The top right side box shows the remote system (in this case Admin) directory information.
    · The bottom boxes show the contents of the directories above.
    · Find the file you are going to transfer. Click, hold and drag the document icon to the target directory content box.


    5. The FTP download window appears -
    · If needed change the Transfer mode (defaults to text).
    · Click Start
    · If a file with the same name already exists in the directory you are transferring to - a Local Filename window will appear – if you want to rename the file you can do that here.
    · Click OK – if overwriting a filename click OK.
      6. Click on the top right corner X button to close the ftp session.
