LIS 7030
Organization of Knowledge
Credits: 3 cr.
Course Description:
In this course you will examine the conceptual and theoretical frameworks for organizing and retrieving information, with special attention to organizational systems' objectives, structures, formats, standards, and vocabularies. You will practice interpreting and using bibliographic description standards, subject languages, classification schemes, and encoding and transmission protocols.
Prerequisites:
Prerequisite with concurrency: LIS 7010.
