Systems Change Project
Credits: 4 cr.
Your systems change project is the culmination of the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) curriculum. This project involves a systems level change in nursing practice, education and/or service designed to improve the outcomes of a specific population. You will synthesize the knowledge you have acquired in previous DNP courses and practicum experiences in this project. Your systems change project is planned, developed, implemented and evaluated in collaboration with your project committee comprised of your faculty project advisor, faculty reader and site mentor.
Prerequisites: NURS 8502, 8520 or by special permission of the DNP project advisor.
Please note: The Systems Change Practicum course (4 credits total) may be taken in one term as NURS 8600, or over two to four terms in a combination of 1 and 2 credit course segments beginning after NURS 8520 and ending with or after NURS 8540:
NURS 8610: Systems Change Practicum: Part One 2 credits
NURS 8620: Systems Change Practicum: Part Two 2 credits
NURS 8601: Systems Change Practicum: Part One 1 credit*
NURS 8602: Systems Change Practicum: Part Two 1 credit*
NURS 8603: Systems Change Practicum: Part Three 1 credit*
NURS 8604: Systems Change Practicum: Part Four 1 credit*
*Students with specific needs related to registration requirements may complete the Systems Change Practicum by taking these four 1-credit courses. The last credit of NURS 8600 (i.e., 8604), if taken in one-credit segments, must be taken with or after NURS 8540.
