STUDENT BEHAVIOR

Description:
During a class activity, a student made a comment that he probably shouldn't have. Actually, he was introducing himself on a panel by saying, "Hi. I'm ___. I am a ___." I stopped him before he went any farther and told him he had a zero and moved on to the next person. I was upset, because I had clearly stated in the directions that they should take this seriously and not screw around. After reflecting on this, I would like to know what I could do better to not receive such a response.
