The sole female in an engineering class dropped the course, possibly related to comments made by peers during a class quality study activity. The situation chosen by the group to discuss pertained to the event regarding possible gender bias.

Stress opportunities for women and the percentage of women in different occupations. Also stress respect for instruction, equipment and each other, a safe classroom. A woman speaker could address the class and give statistics of women in this career fieldable moment!! Use this experience to illustrate future introductions to this course. Advise the student in resiliency.
