Situation/Case Study:

This teacher has had a series of serious crises in her family. Her mother is seriously ill; she has a friend who is seriously mentally depressed, and another friend who recently lost her husband. In addition she is married and has a young child. She feels that at school her team is not working particularly well and she is not supported by her administrator. She recognizes herself as a person who wants to "fix" things, but feels very frustrated because so much of what is going on is out of her control and she can't fix things. This all takes tremendous demands on her time, energy, and emotional well-being, all of which she recognizes are important to her doing her best job with her students.
