Situation/Case Study:

Student was a high profile student last year, this year when he is in school his behavior is "off the wall." Meds have been recommended but mother is not capable of having anything to do with medication and so child's need for meds has been ignored. Interagency groups pooled resources and called the Clinic to get the meds on a trial basis through school personnel. If meds not effective in causing a dramatic turn around the teacher questions, "How long do I or the school have to put up with the kid's totally disruptive behavior? How long must a teacher do the extraordinary in trying to get a child on task or at least not disrupting the learning environment for the rest of the class?"
