Situation/Case Study:

The question was raised "why" must schools be bound to keep kids in school when their behavior is potentially dangerous to the staff working with him. The student cannot be removed from the EBD department without an amendment to his IEP even though the student is "over powering" the situation. There is no movement to make any changes that would challenge the dangerous behaviors.

That which does not kill us, strengthens us! Teachers, administrators and the Union should empower all groups to promote success for all students. Remove the barriers! Take down the walls! Erase agendas and UNITE!! Look to what you have done or changed for kids. Join groups/committees; go as a group to leadership one more time, take the risk. Don't forget who you do help! Keep remembering the joy of being with "good" kids and that the majority are good. Remember successes. I pray for strength and patience.

Theories behind practice:

Impact on others:
What power do teachers have when parents are not supportive and the school leadership refuses to address the students who are destroying learning environments? What form of communication can teachers use to generate a breakthrough for leadership support when the problems don't go away? Where is the Union for these kinds of problems?
