CURRICULUM AND TEACHING

Description:
I had the class mutiny at the middle school. The class had 17 guys and 3 girls. If you remember, I could not make they dress for swimming. I basically told them it was their decision about whether they wanted to dress, or not. I told them we would do some activity no matter what and started them walking stairs. I called twelve parents informing them their child wanted to walk out of class. By the end of the quarter 11 of the boys turned around--they were hockey players who discovered I was a hockey coach. They then became my helpers and also got some of the guys to stop picking on the few girls. It became quite positive.
