Situation/Case Study:

A student comes into my classroom one day before the school year starts. He comes from North Dakota with no previous records. It is obvious from the first days of school that this student needs further evaluation. My dilemma is trying to teach to his needs while also not lessening any interaction with the rest of the students. This student is very needy and unable to do the simplest of tasks (write the alphabet - follow one word directions - write numerals 1-10).
