STUDENT/TEACHER/FAMILY ISSUE

Description:
A student who, according to parents, is highly gifted has not been turning in his work and when confronted with this fact claims to have turned it in. The teacher's first response was to say, "Here's the box of spelling papers, you find it." Even though the child could not find the paper, he maintained he had just turned it in. This has been happening consistently. The teacher has written a note home to ask for parents to check on whether his homework is completed each day. The parents sign the sheet and return it with the student even when the work isn't done.
