Teachers in this situation might feel extreme concern and compassion for the student; uncertainty as to how to effectively help the student; professional responsibility to help student; and fear and sadness for the student.

Impact on others:


Solutions:
This student has serious problems with social skills and understanding appropriate behavior. She needs repeated practice in "unlearning" poor skills and practicing appropriate behavior. Work with special education professionals to help the teacher fully us, if necessary). Encourage staff input.
