Associate of Arts Program (AA)
Associate of Arts Program
Program Option: A.A.
The Associate of Arts (AA) Program at St. Kate's is an excellent way to get started on your bachelor's degree. Located on the Minneapolis campus, the AA Program is a full-time day program that is open to women and men. The program is both challenging and supportive and relies on three components:
- High expectations for students to develop the academic competencies needed for success in college. These include critical reading, thinking and writing skills, as well as essential study skill behaviors such as time management, goal-setting and decision-making.
- A specific and focused curriculum that gives you a strong foundation in a variety of liberal arts and sciences disciplines. These courses will become part of your associate or bachelor's degree.
- Intensive advising to help you clarify your academic strengths and goals.
After one year in the AA program, most students transfer to the four-year program at the St. Paul Campus of St. Catherine University. Courses in the AA program can be applied to St. Kate's baccalaureate program. Some students may decide to apply to an associate degree healthcare program at St. Kate's, or to complete the full two-year associate of arts degree. Students who are interested in transferring to another college work with their advisor to select courses that will transfer.
