Information Technology Programs of Study
Information and computer technologies are critical tools in business, industry, nonprofits, government, and education. Advanced technology skills can provide an edge in any career as a tool enabling creative problem solving, communication, and team work. Most modern careers in this field involve significant interaction with people, much of the work is done in teams and involves many elements of project management. The College of St. Catherine’s information and computer technology programs of study integrate knowledge of technology, working in teams, and developing group projects. Specific career opportunities include instructional technologist, graphic designer, Web designer, technical writer, computer programmer, business systems analyst, project manager, information manager, and technical support specialist.
Information technology does not itself constitute a major or minor. Majors, minors and selections of courses that are information technology focused are offered through a variety of disciplines in both the Day program and the Weekend College program. Consult the specific department listings as indicated for details regarding the majors, minors and courses that are information technology focused.
