Attendance
Regular class attendance is expected of all students. You are expected to arrive at class on time and stay for the duration of the class. Whether present or not, you are responsible for class assignments. Absences for any reason may be taken into account in the evaluation of your work. Each instructor will include the attendance policy in the course syllabus and state that policy at the beginning of the term.
For courses where first day attendance is required, as noted in the class schedule, instructors may drop a student who does not attend the first class meeting and approve the registration of another student seeking to enroll in the class. For all courses, instructors have the option of dropping students who have not attended within the first week of classes. The instructor will notify the Registrar’s Office which students should be dropped for nonattendance. As a student, you have final responsibility for formally withdrawing from a course. Even if you do not attend class meetings, you remain financially responsible for paying tuition for the course, up to the date of formal withdrawal. Consult the academic calendars on the College’s Web site for the add, drop and withdrawal deadlines.
