THE CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION
The College of St. Catherine awards the certificate of completion for several programs of study. These programs range from the vocational to the professional level and equip students with specialized knowledge, skills and decision-making competencies necessary for working in a variety of settings.
THE ASSOCIATE DEGREE
The College of St. Catherine awards the associate of arts (A.A.), associate of science (A.S.) and the associate of applied science (A.A.S.) degrees to students upon successful completion of academic requirements. Upon receiving the A.S. or A.A.S. degree, the graduate of one of the healthcare programs is prepared to accept an entry-level position in the major field. The A.A. degree program is intended to prepare students for enrollment in a four-year baccalaureate program.
THE BACCALAUREATE DEGREE
The bachelor of arts (B.A.) degree is offered by every major field at the college. Additionally, the bachelor of science (B.S.) degree is offered within certain majors as an alternative to the B.A., at the option of the student. The B.A. and B.S. degrees differ in terms of the liberal arts requirements that must be fulfilled to complete the degree, and major requirements may differ as well. (See core graduation requirements.) In cases where students choose to double-major, they will declare the degree choice at the time the major is declared. In the case of double majors that offer different degrees, students may choose between the B.A. and the B.S., provided they complete the core requirements for both; otherwise, they earn the B.A.
