INTRODUCTION TO PHYSICAL THERAPY (2 cr.)
This seven-week course introduces pre-physical therapy students to the profession of physical therapy and provides an opportunity for students to apply and understand the vocational relevance of the knowledge acquired in physical therapy program prerequisite courses. Further, the course is designed to facilitate student appreciation of how each of the three pre-physical therapy academic majors at the University impacts the practice of physical therapy. Students are introduced to the integrative curriculum model of the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at St. Catherine University, as well as instructional methods utilized in the program (clinical case studies, tutorials). There is a focus on transitioning from an undergraduate to a graduate student. Prerequisites: Completion of one semester each of biology, psychology, physics, chemistry, and anatomy/physiology Pre-PT students only.
