NURS 2250
THE NURSING ROLE AND VARIATIONS IN HEALTH I FOR STUDENTS IN TRANSITION (4 cr.)
NURS 2250 is the second course for you as you transition to the registered nurse role. The conceptual model, modeling and role-modeling, is further explored as you begin to perform assessments and provide care to patients experiencing variations in health. You build on previous knowledge learned about the care of patients across the lifespan who are experiencing variations in health related to mobility and nutrition. New skills are introduced along with review and further development of previously learned skills. Basic concepts of intravenous fluid therapy are explored. A clinical component provides experiences in caring for patients with variations in health and is designed to maximize integration of learning. Prerequisites: NURS 1260, American Heart Association CPR certification (proof of current certification must be presented to the instructor the first week of class).
