Minnesota Law (M.S. 135A.14), effective July 1, 1990, requires that all students born after 1956 and enrolled in a public or private post-secondary school in Minnesota be immunized against tetanus, diphtheria, measles, mumps and rubella, allowing for certain specified exemptions. As a student at St. Catherine University, you are required to submit your immunization information to show compliance with this law.
By enrolling in a program of study at St. Catherine University, you must provide immunization information to the Student Compliance Office. The requirements differ depending on whether you are entering into a clinical or non-clinical program.
Immunization forms are due to the Student Compliance Office by the specified date of the first semester in which you are enrolled. This date can be found at the Student Compliance Office's website. Failure to provide all required immunization information by the deadline date will result in a hold on your record that will prevent you from registering for following semesters. In addition, a late fee may be applied to your student account. The Student Compliance Office will communicate with you through your University assigned email account. You are responsible and accountable for all information communicated in this manner.
NON-CLINICAL PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS:
The immunization forms for non-clinical programs of study are available in the Student Compliance Office located on the Minneapolis campus and in the Health and Wellness Center on the St. Paul campus. See the Student Compliance Office's website for all the immunization requirements and deadline dates.
CLINICAL PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS:
To protect all persons in healthcare programs from possible exposure to communicable diseases, students enrolling in a program of study that includes an off-site clinical rotation are required to provide a more extensive health history, immunization reports, and annual updates to St. Catherine's. These requirements can be found on the Student Compliance Office's website along with the deadline dates. The forms for students in clinical programs are available in the Student Compliance Office on the Minneapolis Campus.
