Mission Statement
The purpose of Academic Advising is to guide students to become self-directed learners and decision makers who demonstrate ethical leadership, grounded in social responsibility. Through collaborative mentoring relationships among the student, the academic advisor, faculty, and staff, academic advising empowers students to develop and implement sound educational plans that are consistent with their academic, personal, and professional goals.
Academic Advising can assist St. Paul Day students with the following:
- Choosing a major
- Finding or changing your advisor
- Coping with academic stress
- Developing a plan to complete degree requirements
- Referrals to other campus departments to meet your goals
- Taking a leave of absence or withdrawing from classes
- Addressing concerns with courses or instructors
- Finding out who can help you if we can't
