Change of Major

Change of Major/Advisor
Use this online form to let us know you are changing your major or to request a new advisor. This form lets us know your "intended" major.

Upon completion of your change of major/advisor form, the Office of Academic Advising will contact the appropriate academic department to assign an advisor in your major. Next, we will notify the Registrar's Office to make changes to your Kateway accounts. Once the process is complete, you will see your new major and new advisor in your Kateway account, under the My Education tab. This process may take up to two weeks.

If you change your major from a program that offers a B.S. to one that only offers a B.A., your deree requirements will change.

Petition to Major
This paper form can be picked up in the Academic Advising Office, Derham Hall 211. Completion and submission of this form is a formal admission to your major and is typically completed during your sophomore year. Some majors have additional admissions requirements.
