SEPTEMBER 2009

Mary Harding and Becky Haven ‘08, graduates of the St. Kate's master of arts in education curriculum and instruction-distance learning program, have had a research article on peer coaching published in a special action research issue of the Journal of Dance Education. Their article is one of only three selected. The two were honored with the 2008 Sister Ann Harvey Award that recognizes educators and education students for outstanding action research projects.

Cindy Leonard-Corbett SP '83 and her family started the nonprofit "Sharing Tree" to collect school supplies for needy students in the Hudson, Wisconsin area. JULY 2009

Christine Niemi SP '99 was a leader in California in the fight against colon cancer, which finally took her life. A Memorial Service was held on Thursday, July 23, and the funeral on July 29. For more on the arrangements and on Christine, click here.

Catherine Lang McLynn SP '71 earned 55% of the vote to continue serving as Itasca County Commissioner, District 2.







Elizabeth B. Langhilde Kautz WEC '82 earned 54% of the vote for Mayor of Burnsville.









Ramsey County Judge Margaret M. (Peg) Marrinan SP '69 ran and was re-elected uncontested.

Spring 2008 the Alumnae Association hosted a breakfast for CSC librarian alumnae who were in town attending the Public Library Association's national conference in Minneapolis. Ruth Brombach, executive director of the Alumnae Association, provided updates about the College and the Association. Mary Wagner, MLIS director, provided CSC library updates, especially on accreditation and the Urban Library program. Several graduates and current students from the Urban Library program attended. Our alumna who traveled the furthermost to this conference and breakfast was Judy McMakin '72 from Richland, Washington.
