Mission and Goals of the Alumnae/i Association of the College of St. Catherine
In 1917, Sister Antonia McHugh, dean of the College, called a meeting of four new graduates “to form ways to keep in contact with college friends, recruit new students, and raise money for a scholarship fund through buying defense bonds.” Sound familiar?
Though there were less than twenty-five graduates at that time, the alumnae knew they wanted to keep in touch throughout their lives with the friends they had made and the institution that had opened their minds, hearts, and spirits. The Alumnae Association grew as the College grew and became an independent organization in 1957.
So what is our mission today?
The College of St. Catherine Alumnae Association exists to serve the College
in the name of the alumnae and to provide service to alumnae. The purpose
of the Association is to support the mission of the College of St. Catherine;
to foster a spirit of loyalty and fellowship among alumnae; and to maintain and strengthen the mutually beneficial relationship between
