Friends of the Library Reception
Thursday, April 18
Please join the St. Paul campus Library for a Friends "Thank You" Reception on Thursday, April 18, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in the Sister Marie Inez Johnson Faculty Study Room. Refreshments will be served. Guest speaker is Renee Reed, head of the sociology department at the Minneapolis Public Library. Renee will speak about her experiences and observations of libraries in Cuba.
Spring Memorial Mass
Sunday, April 21
A spring Memorial Mass will be held on Sunday, April 21, at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Victory Chapel. The Mass is in memory of alumnae and members of the CSC community who have died during the past six months. A continental breakfast will follow in the Guest Dining Room, St. Joseph Hall, with families of the deceased invited as guests of the Alumnae Association. Cost of the breakfast for others who wish to attend is $3.00 per person. Reservations are necessary. Call the Alumnae Association office, 651-690-6666.
Class of 1961 Spring Luncheon
Saturday, April 27
The 1961 spring luncheon is Saturday, April 27, at 11:30 a.m. at the North Points Restaurant, formerly the Anchorage, in the Four Points Sheraton. Cec Wattles McKeig is asking for donations of gently used books appropriate for high school and elementary for her school reading programs that include students from the Leech Lake Reservation.

Annual Business Meeting
Monday, May 13
This year’s Alumnae Association annual business meeting will be held on Monday, May 13. The election of officers, including the president-elect, will occur. All class leadership team members are asked to attend the annual business meeting in order to confirm the business and election of Alumnae Association officers and board members. Andrea J. Lee, CSC president, is featured speaker. All alumnae are welcome at this meeting to hear the review of the year’s Association work and to celebrate the progress of the College!

The class of 1943 will have a luncheon on Monday, May 20, 2002, at the Town and Country Club in St. Paul. Information will be sent.
The Reflective Woman
Friday, June 21
On Friday, June 21, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., a condensed three-hour version of the required CSC core curriculum class, The Reflective Woman, will be offered. The Reflective Woman class for alumnae will give an overview of the discussion-based course intended to develop reflective judgment using frames of reference from liberal arts traditions. Participants will encounter issues of importance in the everyday world as well as the intellectual world. They will develop important skills in communication, critical thinking, and information use. As the title implies, The Reflective Woman is designed to make best use of the intellectual approaches and learning styles of women. Lunch is included and CEUs are available. Detailed information will follow.

The Alumnae Association is offering the sixth in a series of collectable ornaments, a Peter Lupori 2001 angel ornament. A limited number of the 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, and 2000 ornaments are also available. The cost of the ornament is $20 each including tax when picked up in the Alumnae office and $25 each including tax if mailed. The Alumnae Association is also offering Peter Lupori Charms for all seven years. The charms are one-inch replicas of the ornaments, designed to go on a necklace or a bracelet. The cost of a charm is $12 each when picked up in the Alumnae office and if mailing is needed, please include $3 per address for cost of shipping. Memorial Mass

Masses are held in Our Lady of Victory Chapel twice a year to honor alumnae and members of the CSC community who have died. The Memorial Mass will be held in the spring on Sunday, April 21, 2002. Family members are invited as guests of the Alumnae Association. The 10:30 a.m. Mass is followed by a continental breakfast in West Marian Lounge. Cost is $3.
