Wildcat softball ends season with sweep
April 30, 2007 - The College of St. Catherine softball team finished its 2007 campaign with a pair of wins over Bethel University on Monday evening. with the wins the Wildcats finsh 2007 with a record of 10-11-1 (MIAC) and 14-23-1 (overall).

In game one the Royals jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead with a run in the bottom of the first. That is where the scored stayed until the top of the fourth when the scored a pair of runs. a double by Jess Lewandowski (Sr., Vadnais Heights, Minn.) drove in the first run and then a sacrifice fly by Morgan Kane (Sr., apple Valley, Minn.) made it 2-0 Wildcats.

That is all the support that starting pitcher Jess Lewandowski would need as she held the Royals to zero runs the last six innings of the game on her way to a 4-1 complete game win.

Game two was a pitchers dual through the first four innings. With the score still tied at zero heading into the top of the fifth when the Wildcats turned three hits and an error into a 3-0 lead heading into the bottom of the fifth inning. In the bottom of the fifth Jess Lewandowski shut the Royals down and the game was called due to weather conditions with the Wildcats leading 3-0.
