Overview
The Athletic Training Room(ATR) can be used by any student-athlete at the College of St. Catherine. The purpose of the ATR is to work with the student-athletes in the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. The ATR is open before and after all athletic practices and home events. Appointments can also be made to see an Athletic Trainer in the ATR. A Certified Athletic Trainer covers all athletic practices and home events either in person, or on an on-call basis.

Abby is a graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Athletic Training and Health Education. She received a Master of Science Degree from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse in School Health Education. While at UW – La Crosse she was a Graduate Assistant in the Health Education/Health Promotion department.
Abby teaches EXSS 375: Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries in the Exercise and Sports Science Department at the College of St. Catherine.
Abby is a certified athletic trainer who is responsible for the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries for all nine intercollegiate sport teams at St. Kates. She can be found on the sidelines of all home Wildcat athletic events. Go Wildcats!

Dr. Paul Niemuth is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Therapy and Athletic Training. He received his Masters of Art Degree from the University of St. Thomas in Education, as well as a Doctor of Science Degree in Sports Physical Therapy from Rocky Mountain of Health Professions. Dr. Niemuth is also a Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist and a Sports Clinical Specialist.
Dr. Niemuth teaches course content in Diagnosis, Kinesiology, Musculoskeletal Systems, Clinical Orthopaedics, and Sports Medicine in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at the College of St. Catherine. He is also an adjunct faculty member at the Hennepin County Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship Program where he teaches physicians on orthopaedic and sports injury rehabilitation.
Paul is also a Certified Athletic Trainer and serves as the Assistant Athletic Trainer.
Team Physicians
Chris Larson, MD
Dr. Larson sees his patients at Orthopaedic Consultants in Minneapolis and at Minnesota Sports Medicine in Eden Prairie. He is co-chief of the Orthopedic Clinic Services at Fairview-University Medical and serves as Director of Education for the Minnesota Sports Medicine and the Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Fellowship program. He is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon.
Dr. Larson earned his medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School. He completed his orthopaedic residency at the University of North Carolina and a sports medicine orthopaedic fellowship at the Minneapolis Sports Medicine Center in Minneapolis, Minn where he provided medical coverage for the University of North Carolina Tarheels football and soccer programs and the Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Timberwolves, respectively.
In his practice Dr. Larson specializes in hip arthroscopy and knee conditions.
Andrea Saterbak, MDDr. Saterbak sees patients at St. Croix Orthopaedics in Stillwater, MN. She has been there since 1998. She participates in the Hennepin County Medical Center family practice sports medicine fellowship program, and is a consultant for the National Women’s Sports Foundation. She is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon.
Dr. Saterbak graduated from Creighton University School of Medicine in, and completed her orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Iowa Department of Orthopaedics. After residency, Dr. Saterbak studied sports medicine for one year at the Steadman-Hawkins Clinic in Vail, Colorado with an emphasis on shoulder and knee arthroscopy and cartilage regeneration techniques.
In her practice Dr. Saterbak specializes in sports medicine.
Sports Medicine Fellows
We have four physicians that rotate through the athletic training room on Wednesday afternoons. They are family practice physicians that are taking part in the Hennepin County Medical Center family practice sports medicine fellowship program.
Mike Kruger, M.D.
Dr. Kruger received his doctorate of medicine from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences in 1999. He is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, completing his Family Medicine residency in Grand Forks, North Dakota in 2003. He is currently completing a Sports Medicine fellowship at the Hennepin County Medical Center.
He is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American College of Sports Medicine, and the American Medical Society of Sports Medicine.
Margarita Sevilla, M.D.
Dr. Sevilla is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, and completed her Family Medicine residency at the University of Wisconsin at Madison. She is currently completing her subspecialty training in the Sports Medicine Fellowship at the Hennepin County Medical Center.
Dr. Sevilla was born and raised in Ecuador, where she did a lot of mountain climbing. She also spent some years in England, where she ran cross country. During her residency training in Madison, she ran the Chicago Marathon as an intern and did the Ironman WI Triathlon as a third-year resident.
Dr. Sevilla is very interested in ultraendurance events, overuse injuries in women and obesity prevention. She is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine and the American Medical Society of
Sports Medicine.
Nick Edwards, M.D.
Dr. Edwards is a board-eligible pediatrician and one of the current Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellows at Hennepin County Medical Center, a one-year subspecialty training program. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1999 and his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in 2003. Dr. Edwards completed his residency training in 2006 at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics Pediatrics residency program.
His special interests include infections in athletes, obesity, and injuries in young athletes. He is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine and the American Medical Society of Sports Medicine.
Anne Moore, M.D.
Dr. Moore grew up in the Twin Cities and received her doctorate of medicine from the University of Minnesota School of Medicine. She is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, and completed her Family Medicine residency at Methodist Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. She is currently completing her subspecialty training in the Sports Medicine Fellowship at the Hennepin County Medical Center.
She lives in the Twin Cites area with her husband and three children Madeline (13), Thaddeus (11) and Augustine (8). Their schedule is busy with many sporting activities and, of course, homework, but she still finds time for a daily swim or run.
She is member of the American College of Sports Medicine and the American Medical Society of Sports Medicine.
