Wildcat tennis starts season 1-2
February 18, 2007 – The Wildcat tennis team opened its season with three matches this weekend. The Wildcats faced Macalester on Friday and then made the trip to St. Cloud on Sunday to face St. Cloud State and Augustana.

In Friday’s match, the Wildcats were defeated by Macalester 5-4. Individually, the Wildcats were lead by Shelly Bebler (Sr., Wells, Minn.). Bebler, won both her singles and doubles match with partner Susie Hallquist (So., Coon Rapids, Minn.).

In Sunday’s matches in St. Cloud, the Wildcats fell 9-0 to a very good Division II St. Cloud State team. Later in the day the Wildcats battled back and got a 6-3 win over Augustana.

Against Augustana, Bebler, Hallquist, Abby Beytien-Carlson (Sr., Hastings, Minn.) and Vanessa Sinell (Sr., LeSuere, Minn.) were all victorious in their singles matches.

The Wildcat tennis team will be back in action this Friday when they play host to Northwestern College at the Baseline Tennis Center.
