Java and Job Search, Alumnae Career Transition Workshop

Weekly on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 11:30 am, St. Paul Campus. This workshop is a free resource for alumni currently or soon to be engaged in a job search. Every week we will tackle a new topic and address the needs and concerns of those looking for jobs. By the end of the series, attendees should have an awareness of their own strengths and goals, and a developed understanding of how to conduct an effective job search.

Registration is required and a commitment of regular attendance for the series is recommended. Attendees may begin attending at any point in the workshop and may repeat as needed.


      The workshop will cover the following topics in an 8 week series.
      • Assessing your Skills, Values and Interests
      • Gathering Resources for Your Job Search
      • Networking and LinkedIn
      • Resume Styles and Critique
      • Cover Letter Review
      • Interviewing and Negotiation
      • Staying Positive While You Search
      • Defining Happiness and Meaning in Your Work
    Meeting schedule and location may vary as needed with holidays and space.

    Career Fairs Open to Alumnae

    Government Fair Held at the University of Minnesota every Fall, open to alumnae and students from all Minnesota state and private colleges or universities. Watch our website for details on date and time.





Education Fair Held every spring, open to alumnae and students who have graduated from a Minnesota college or university and have a teaching license. Watch our website for details about fees, registration (pre-registration required) and event details.
Career Opportunities Fair for Business, Technology, Healthcare and Nonprofit Set for October 10, 2013. Held on campus every fall, open to alumnae and students. See sample information and employers from 2012 event.
