By connecting to an Alum through Katie CareerNet, you will:
Learn about different industries and career paths
Expand your professional network
Get advice on planning your future

Be exposed to valuable career opportunities
How do you get involved?
Getting started is easy! Log in to
KatieClick and then click on
Katie CareerNet right from your home page (on the top tool bar, right side). A good first step is to think about the type of guidance you are looking for - is it general or industry-related advice? Do you need information about a school or organization? Are you simply looking to build your network of contacts? Perhaps requesting an informational interview with your Mentor would make the most sense for you. Once you know what you need, you’ll be able to use these criteria to narrow your search and start making on-line connections.
How do you begin to have a conversation with a Mentor?
Starting the conversation can be as easy as specifying what areas you need advice, and asking to set up time for a phone call, or informational interview. Remember, these Mentors want to help you and provide career guidance, so take advantage of this opportunity!
The Career Development Office strongly encourages you to meet with a Career Counselor for advice and guidance if you have any questions about how to approach or interact with a Mentor. This is a professional networking opportunity. Therefore, it’s important that you interact with the alumni participants in a professional way.
