Alumni instructions for KatieClick Mentors

St. Kate’s is proud to share with you KatieClick Mentors, a new program that allows you to connect to students and alumni and help guide them through the career search process.

Becoming a Mentor offers many benefits to both you and your Mentee(s), and is an opportunity to truly make a difference. Especially in the challenging economic climate we’re currently experiencing, mentoring connections and networking is the surest way for students and alums alike to conduct successful job searches. We would like to invite you to participate in our Mentor program to share your experiences and provide your valuable guidance. To become a Mentor, please visit http://stkate.experience.com.

As a Mentor in KatieClick Mentors, you can:
Share your experiences and knowledge with others
Help others develop their interpersonal and professional skills
Expand your network and potentially discover a valuable hire/referral
Make a positive impact and contribute to others’ career growth

As an added bonus, you’ll get access to a national database of job listings cultivated by Experience.com.

How can you get started?

Simply visit http://stkate.experience.com to create an account and request to become a Mentor. Once you are in the system as a Mentor, it’s important to go to your Settings and Profile and take the following key steps to ensure you get the experience you’re looking for:

Complete your Profile: This contains your latest contact information (which will remain private until you accept Mentee connection requests), objectives, and the type of guidance you’d like to provide, so it’s important to keep them current.
Update your Resume: Both your Mentor Profile and Resume exist in the Experience Portfolio, which is a tool to help users showcase their experience and skill sets. In Portfolio, the Resume section contains your Education History and Work Experience. It’s important to keep this information updated, as it is helpful information for Mentees as they search for Mentors.
Select your Settings: Set your desired level of participation, which enables you to control how many Mentees you have at one time. You can also adjust your Mentor status within your Settings.

Once you are connected, mentoring is what YOU and your Mentees make of it. We would greatly appreciate your participation in our program so please sign in to KatieClick Mentors now to start your Mentoring experience.
Because this is a new resource, we are currently working to build a population of alums in the database, and plan to roll out the product to students in the next few weeks, after we have some alums already in the system. So if you don’t hear from a prospective mentee right away, don’t worry! You’ll probably hear from one soon.

Thanks again for your willingness to participate in this valuable new program. Please don’t hesitate to contact the Career Development Office at 651-690-8890 if you have questions or comments.
