Family Weekend

October 3-5, 2008

Family Weekend is a St. Kate’s tradition and a weekend for the entire family. This year's weekend promises to be exciting, entertaining and of course, fun!

Schedule of Events:

Friday October 3, 2008
7:00pm Rauenhorst Hall, Coeur de Catherine	Comedian C. Willi Myles (FREE Event!) C. Willi Myles takes everyday life challenges and applies humor to them. He has opened for many of the top musical and comedy acts throughout the country. He has performed with The Temptations, Fleetwood Mac, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Dennis Miller, Toby Keith, and Bonnie Rait. He has been featured locally and nationally on Fox, Comedy Central, and Showtime at the Apollo. Don't miss this free show!
8:00pm	Prize Drawing!
8:15pm Rauenhorst Hall, Coeur de Catherine	Magician Peter Boie (FREE Event!) Peter has won honors at magic competitions around the country. He is a self-proclaimed Magician for Non-Believers. Being a Magician for Non-Believers is about creating an atmosphere where you stop thinking whether or not it's real, and just enjoy it. Don't miss this free show!

10:00am Rauenhorst Hall, Coeur de Catherine	Parent and Family Association Speaker Series Kick-Off and Breakfast: Parents Primer on The Reflective Woman (FREE Event!) Join us for a lively discussion presented by the CORE Curriculum Faculty. Every student at St. Kate's take The Reflective Woman. What is this course all about? Join us to learn more about The Reflective Woman from faculty who will share their insights, loves, and challenges of the course.
11:30am-1:30pm South Lawn of Coeur de Catherine	Family Weekend BBQ and Pumpkin Painting Contest Enjoy the great fall weather outside with other families and students. Participate in a pumpkin painting contest (you may win a prize!), get a free caricature or balloon animal, and have some fun! Grilled chicken, hot dogs, and veggie burgers will be served with assorted salads and desserts.
12:30pm Bus departs from St. Mary Hall	St. Paul Gangster Tour #1 Hop on a motorcoach and prepare to be transported to the 1930's when St. Paul wasn’t so saintly. Your guide will take you on a 2 hour journey past the most infamous gangster hideouts and the famous nightclubs where many gangsters spent time socializing with the public. This is a can't miss event!
1:00pm Soccer Field	St. Kate's Wildcats Soccer vs. St. Olaf Cheer on the Wildcats as they take on the Oles.
2:30pm Bus departs from St. Mary Hall	St. Paul Gangster Tour #2 Hop on a motorcoach and prepare to be transported to the 1930's when St. Paul wasn’t so saintly. Your guide will take you on a 2 hour journey past the most infamous gangster hideouts and the famous nightclubs where many gangsters spent time socializing with the public. 4:00pm-8:00pm	Fall Art Tour: Multi-Campus Art Gallery Tour This multi-campus gallery crawl will offer free shuttle service between St. Kate's, Augsburg College, Bethel College's 9th Street Gallery, College of Visual Arts, Concordia University, Macalester College, and the University of St. Thomas. 11:00am-1:00pm Dining Room, Coeur de Catherine	Brunch End the weekend with a wonderful assortment of breakfast goodies with your family. Omelets made to order, belgian waffles with toppings, a chef's carving station, fresh fruit and yogurt bar, and much more will be served.
