THE OFFICE OF GLOBAL STUDIES PROVIDES:
- Individual study abroad advising sessions
- Campus visits by international program representatives
- Campus discussions with faculty members and students with international experience
- Pre-departure orientations
- Re-entry gatherings
- Campus support and representation while studying abroad
- Library of international resources/country specific resources
MISSION STATEMENT FOR THE OFFICE OF GLOBAL STUDIES
April 25, 2006
In collaboration with the College’s vision to “educate women to lead and influence,” the Office of Global Studies provides and supports opportunities for members of the College community to encounter, learn from, and appreciate new cultures, communities, and environments throughout the world.
Goals for accomplishing this mission include a commitment to:
- Provide and support high quality academic experiential off-campus learning opportunities.
- Support faculty, staff, and departments in the development of study abroad courses and programs as an integral part of the college curriculum.
- Advise, mentor, and support students through their off-campus program experiences, from initial inquiry to reentry.
- Support on-campus initiatives to lead the CSC community toward a global perspective.*
- Provide friendly, efficient, and personal service, with cultural sensitivity.
*The College’s commitment to diversity and global perspectives is clearly expressed in the liberal arts outcomes document produced by Greater Expectations (2005 – 2006) and in the 2005 – 2010 Strategic Plan.
