While you may meet a specific course requirement with a grade of C, you must maintain a B average. If you do not maintain a B average, or if you earn more than one grade of C or lower, you may be asked to withdraw from the program. In addition, if you fail to complete the program’s requirements within the designated time frame, you may be asked to terminate the program.
The guidelines stated above are minimum requirements. Each program is free to set more specific terms by which progress is measured for purposes of continuation. You are responsible for knowing and following the academic progression policies of the graduate program to which you have been admitted.
You are encouraged to check with the director of graduate studies in your major field for complete information about academic performance and degree progress standards, as well as the procedures used to monitor these standards.
