Elementary Student Teaching Practicum and Seminars I, II and III

Credits: 2 cr.

Course Description:
Supervised practicum/student teaching in approved sites. A minimum of three visits by the student teaching coordinator are required for each student during the practicum phase, which must last at least nine months.

Ongoing consultation and evaluation of practical work is offered, along with professional support. Attendance is required at supervised practice lab with materials including spontaneous problem solving and support sessions throughout the school year.

The three practicums (I, II and III) are offered during the fall, winter and spring terms, respectively. Students who are doing their practicum away from the University pay all additional costs of observation by the practicum coordinator.

NOTE: An alternative self-directed internship-practicum model can be completed in two years.

Acceptance into the Montessori Program and completion of academic phase.
