Advanced Practice: Health Promotion and Maintenance — Pediatric
Credits: 4 cr.
Course Description:
This course focuses on theories and concepts of primary prevention related to the promotion and maintenance of health in the specialty option population from a holistic perspective. Expansion of the nurse’s role in advanced clinical practice is explored with emphasis on assessment of the well individual.
Advanced decision making, the development of comprehensive nursing strategies of teaching and counseling individuals and families are stressed. A clinical practicum is provided to apply these concepts and principles of advanced practice to the specialty option population.

NURS 6020.
