Carol Keehan, DC

Sister Carol Sister Carol Keehan, DC is the ninth President and Chief Executive Officer of the Catholic Health Association. She earned a BS in Nursing from St. Joseph’s College in Emmitsburg, Maryland and an MS in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina. She was previously President and CEO of Providence Hospital in Washington, DC.

Rev. Larry Snyder, MDIV, MPA

Father Larry Snyder is President of Catholic Charities USA. He earned a BA from Illinois Benedictine College and a Master’s in Divinity from the St. Paul Seminary and a Master of Public Administration from Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota. He was ordained a priest of the Archdiocese of St. Paul in 1988. In 2007, Pope Benedict XVI named him to the Pontifical Council Cor Unum, the dicastery which oversees the Church’s charitable activities around the world.

Mary K. Walker, PhD, RN, FAAN

Mary K. Walker is a Professor and Dean of the Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing at Loyola University in Chicago, Illinois. She was a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and holds a PhD in Nursing Science.

Mary Wakefield, PhD, RN, FAAN

Mary Wakefield is Associate Dean for Rural Health at the School of Medicine and Health Sciences, University of North Dakota; Director and Professor of the Center for Rural Health at the School of Medicine and Health Sciences, University of North Dakota. Dr. Wakefield received a BS in Nursing from the University of Mary at Bismarck, North Dakota, MS in Nursing and PhD from the University of Texas at Austin.

Mary Ann Brenden, MSW

Mary Ann Brenden is an Associate Professor and Director of the Baccalaureate Social Work program in the School of Social Work at the College of St. Catherine and University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. She earned her BS at Cornell University and MSW at the University of Minnesota. She serves on the Board of NETWORK, a National Catholic Social Justice Lobby and on the Peace and Justice Advisory Committee of the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities.

Mary Broderick, PhD, RN

Mary Broderick is President and CEO of Catholic Eldercare, a senior housing and care organization in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She holds undergraduate degrees and a PhD from the University of Minnesota. Dr. Broderick served for over twenty five years in senior leadership roles at St. Mary’s Junior College, subsequently the College of St. Catherine as well as serving as Interim President.

Dan Gannon, JD

Dan Gannon is President and CEO of Catholic Senior Services in St. Paul, Minnesota. He received a BA in Philosophy from the University of St. Thomas and a JD from the William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Mary Madonna Ashton, CSJ, MSW, MHA

Sister Mary Madonna Ashton is former Commissioner of Health for the State of Minnesota and past President and CEO of Carondelet LifeCare Ministries in St. Paul, Minnesota. She holds a BA from the College of St. Catherine, MA in Healthcare Administration, MA in Social Work from St. Louis University and attended the program for Health Systems Management at Harvard University.

Valinda Pearson, PhD, RN, CNE

Valinda Pearson is a Professor of Nursing and Associate Degree Program Director at the College of St. Catherine. She holds a BSN from the University of Iowa and an MS and PhD from the University of Minnesota.

Rene Padilla is Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs in the School of Pharmacy and Health Professions at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. He earned BA and MA degrees in Occupational Therapy and a PhD in Educational Administration with an emphasis in Curriculum Instruction and Sociology of Education.

Roseanne Cook, CSJ, MD, PhD

Sister Roseanne Cook, MD serves the medically indigent population in rural Alabama where she is the sole doctor for two clinics. She received a BA in Biology and Math at Fontbonne University and her PhD in Developmental Physiology from Washington University and earned her MD from the University of Missouri in Columbia.

Chrishonda Smith, MBA, CCDP

Chrishonda Smith is the Diversity Consultant-Manager at Trinity Health Office of Diversity and Inclusion in Farmington Hills, Michigan. She earned a BA in Criminal Justice from Michigan State University, MBA in Strategic Management from Davenport University and Diversity Practitioner Certification from Cornell University.

Charlotte Royeen is Dean of the Edward and Margaret Doisy College of Health Sciences at Saint Louis University. She holds a BS in Occupational Therapy and Anatomy from Tufts University, MS in Occupational Therapy from Washington University School of Medicine and PhD from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, Virginia.

Teresa Cochran, DPT, RPT

Teresa Cochran is currently an Associate Professor and Vice chair in the Department of Physical Therapy at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. She holds an MA in Psychology/Developmental Psychobiology from the University of Nebraska and DPT from Creighton University.

Kathleen Sanford, DBA, RN, FACHE

Kathleen Sanford is Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer at Catholic Health Initiatives. She has a Bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Maryland/Walter Reed Army Institute of Nursing, an MA in Human Resources Management from Pepperdine University, an MBA from Pacific Lutheran University and a Doctorate in Business from Nova Southeastern University.

He is founder and current Chair of the National Institute of Health Policy (NIHP) at the Opus College of Business at the University of St. Thomas in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The NIHP is a not-for-profit, membership organization comprised of healthcare industry leaders throughout the Upper Midwest.

Shirley Eichenwald-Maki is Assistant Professor in the Department of Healthcare Infomatics and Information Management at the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota. Charlotte Weaver is Senior Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer at Gentiva Health Services. She holds a BA in Anthropology, MA in Epidemiology from the University of Washington, a Nursing Diploma from St. Elizabeth School of Nursing and PhD in Medical Anthropology from the University of California-San Francisco and completed a Post-Doctoral fellowship in the same field at the University of Hawaii.

Marty Witrak is Dean of the School of Nursing at the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota and the Executive Director of Center for Healthcare Innovation. She holds a BS from St. Olaf College, MS from the University of Minnesota and a PhD from Syracuse University.

Anita Ho, PhD

Anita Ho is Assistant Professor at the Centre for Applied Ethics at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, as well as an ethicist for Providence Healthcare in Canada. She earned BA’s in Philosophy, Commerce and Marketing, an MA in Philosophy from Dalhousie University and an MA of Music in Piano Performance and PhD respectively from the University of Alberta.

Brian J. Yanofchick is senior director of mission integration and leadership development for the Catholic Health Association of the United States (CHA) . He holds a master's degree in theology from the Catholic University of America, Washington, DC, and a bachelor's degree in government from the College of William and Mary.
