Printers on St. Kates Network are being renamed to make management and identification easier. This is the list of renamed Minneapolis printers. To add a printer follow the instructions on our Help Guide for Windows or Macintosh. These are the new printer names on the Electra print server. Lab Printers for both campuses have been renamed.

We will visit each building to change staff / faculty desktops. Faculty and Staff with Laptops need to delete their old printer(s) and add the appropriate new printer.

It is critical that all operating system and application software be updated when the vendor requests.

Cisco Clean Access, the security software used in Residence Halls requires Windows and Mac computers to do operating system updates.

New Residence Hall Students should update computers before bringing them to the University.

Know your operating system and applications to protect your computers.

Operating Systems: Windows XP, Vista, 7 or Mac 10.4, 10.5, 10.6, Linux Ubuntu
Applications including (but not limited to) Office, Adobe products, Flash, Java

Installing printers for Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 on our network, including in the Residence Halls and Labs. The screen shots here are for Windows XP, but the steps are the same for Windows Vista.

We have started the process of renaming our network printers this Summer 2010. Please refer to the St. Kate's Printer list to locate your new printer name. Macintosh Printers must be removed and reinstalled using our new Help Guide. Printers have been move from the Electra server to the Print server effective Summer 2011
