The College of St. Catherine educates students to understand justice issues with depth and complexity, and prepares them to serve as engaged community and professional leaders. Building on these efforts, the Center for Women, Economic Justice, and Public Policy promotes community collaboration and active learning to advance the creation of just economic policies and systemic change.

The Center for Women, Economic Justice, and Public Policy focuses on economic inequalities associated with gender, race, ethnicity, class, and other consequential differences in contemporary society. Through courses, scholarship, activities and community partnerships the Center strives to shift the emphasis from short-term assistance to sustainable opportunities for justice.

The Center for Women, Economic Justice and Public Policy:
- strengthens the College's interdisciplinary approaches to teaching and learning about justice and change
- develops student and faculty leadership skills to be effective advocates for economic justice and just policy
- involves students and faculty in collaborative work focused on economic justice and public policy
- works with community partners to advance women's economic opportunities and provide students with invaluable community learning experiences
- supports mentoring and access to higher education for women in economically disadvantaged communities
- provides opportunities for students to explore career options and volunteer commitments that work towards a more just world
- provides formats for linking humanities to justice issues through curriculum innovation
- engages in action research that serves community purposes on issues relevant to policy debates
