Parking Regulations
MINNEAPOLIS CAMPUS
Free parking is available along Riverside Park. Contract parking is available through Fairview-University Medical Center. Students should contact the hospital parking office for more details. Campus permit parking is also available at Seward Towers. Parking is not permitted at the campus loading dock located on the west side of Old Main. Any car parked for loading or unloading at the campus loading dock will be towed immediately at the owner’s expense.

Handicapped and temporary handicapped parking is available on a limited space basis. For assistance or information, call the Learning Center at (651) 690-8160.

Students with a valid St. Catherine parking permit may park on the St. Paul campus and take the intercampus shuttle to the Minneapolis campus. Please refer to the transportation section of the LeGuide.

BOTH CAMPUSES
Parking at the college’s St. Paul campus is generally adequate to accommodate normal parking demands. Parking lots are designated for use by all members of the campus community. Students, staff, faculty and visitors are required to observe all St. Catherine parking regulations.

Permits
All students, faculty and staff who plan to park on campus during permit hours are required to purchase a St. Catherine parking permit. Permits are valid for one calendar year from date of purchase. Permits must be displayed on the rear view mirror or other conspicuous spot in the front window. Permits are required from 7 am to 5 pm, seven days a week. In addition, overnight parking (2 am to 6 am)is prohibited except for resident students who purchase day/night permits. Permits may be purchased at the Security office on either the St. Paul or Minneapolis campus.

State Laws
All state laws pertaining to motorized vehicles apply to vehicles on campus. Observe all traffic signs and watch for pedestrians

Parking Areas
Parking areas are designated in seven categories:
1) General Parking: open to college faculty, staff and students with valid St. Catherine permit;
2) Student Parking: open only to St. Catherine students with valid St. Catherine permit;
3) Faculty/Staff Parking: only open to St. Catherine faculty/staff with valid St. Catherine permit ;
4) Guest Parking: open to visitors to campus, not open to students or faculty/staff ;
5) Reserved Parking: 24 hour reserved ;
6) Admission parking: open only to those guests of the St. Catherine admission offices with a valid admission pass ; and
6) Early Childhood Care Parking: open only to clientele of Early Childhood Care with valid ECC permit.

After 5 pm, all lots, except for 24 hour reserved, are open for general parking with no permit required.

Visitor Parking
Visitors between 7am and 5 pm must park in the visitors lot located east of the O'Shaughnessey Auditorium. Visitor passes are available at the Public Safety Office. Overnight visitors to resident students may obtain an overnight pass at Public Safety, and park in the Visitor Lot.

Parking Tickets
Parking tickets may be issued for permit or traffic safety violations. Student tickets are charged to the student’s account 10 days after the ticket is issued. Faculty and staff must pay for tickets with cash or check. Anyone wishing to appeal a ticket must submit a written appeal to the Department of Public Safety within 10 days of the date the ticket is issued. Appeal forms are available at the Public Safety office. If a person receives three or more tickets in a calendar year, their vehicle may be towed immediately with no notice to the owner. The owner will be responsible for all tow and storage fees, and will not be permitted to park on campus for the remainder of the year.


Vehicle Safety
St. Catherine University is not responsible for any thefts or damage that may occur to any automobile while parked on campus. Security officers regularly patrol the parking areas and perform courtesy services, such as notifying owners if their lights are left on and assisting with keys locked in the vehicle.
