Nov. 16, 2009 · a first-year student in the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program, has won the COMMFFEST MADA (Making A Difference) AWARD for "Best Short Drama" from this year's COMMFFEST (GLOBAL) Community Film Festival in Toronto for her script of the documentary, Judy. Nov. 6, 2009 · art director, and SCAN, the St. Catherine University magazine, won bronze awards at the Minnesota Magazine & Publications Association's 13th annual Excellence Awards. Evans-Smith won a bronze in the "Best Use of Visuals/Photography" category for the October 2008 cover story about biology students studying in northern California. The magazine won a bronze in the "Best Column" category for "Behind the Scenes." More »

Oct. 14, 2009 · was nominated to be a student representative to the national meeting of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) at the regional ACSM meeting in Wayne, NE. She was one of 13 St. Kate's students at the meeting with Mark Blegen, Ph.D. assistant professor of exercise and sport science. She will represent both undergraduate and graduate exercise science students from Minnesota, South and North Dakota, Nebraska and Wisconsin at the national meeting. More »

Mary Harding and Becky Haven ‘08,
July 15, 2009 ·  graduates of the St. Kate's master of arts in education curriculum and instruction-distance learning program, have had a research article on peer coaching published in a special action research issue of the "Journal of Dance Education." Their article is one of only three selected. The two were honored with the 2008 Sister Ann Harvey Award that recognizes educators and education students for outstanding action research projects.
