Celebrating the 85th anniversary of its dedication, Our Lady of Victory Chapel's history will be explored in a free talk Wednesday, Nov. 11, 7-8:30 p.m.

Social Work Associate Professor Mary Ann Brenden will discuss the history of the chapel and how Mother Antonia McHugh, CSJ, used the Church of St. Trophime (formerly a cathedral) in Arles, France as inspiration.

The chapel was completed in 1924 under the direction of Sister McHugh, CSJ, one of the founders of St. Catherine who also served as its leader for more than 30 years.

During a 2008 sabbatical, Brenden visited and photographed key elements of St. Trophime that are reflected in the Our Lady of Victory Chapel.

The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and also has the distinction of being arts and crafts movement designer Ernest Batchelder's largest commission of architectural tiles.

Light refreshments will be served. For more information or to R.S.V.P., contact Ellen Richter-Norgel or call 651-690-8730.
