The American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) announced that St. Catherine University student-athlete Michaela Michaelson '11 has been named a RBK Hockey College Division All-American.

Michaelson was one of only 12 players in the country to be named to the first team All-American list. She is also the first Wildcat's hockey player to earn this honor.

The All-American Team honor added to Michaelson's year-end accolades. She was recently named one of five finalists for the AHCA National Player of the Year Award.

She was named the 2009-2010 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Women's Hockey Player of the Year and earned her third consecutive MIAC All-Conference award earlier this month.

Michaelson, who had 35 points in 25 games this season, has now scored 85 points in 74 career games.

The RBK Hockey All-American Ice Hockey Teams are chosen by members of the American Hockey Coaches Association and sponsored by hockey equipment manufacturer, RBK Hockey.
