Author's Visit

Meet Authors Gwenyth Swain and Loretta Ellsworth
Saturday, March 15, 2008

The Education Department will hold its annual Author’s Visit featuring Gwenyth Swain and Loretta Ellsworth on Saturday, March 15 from noon to 1:00 pm in Coeur de Catherine Library Room 123. Gwenyth won the MN Book Award for her biography of Minnesota author Wanda Gag. Loretta recently published a book for young adults called In Search of Mockingbird, receiving great reviews. Loretta has also authored an earlier historical novel, Shrouding Woman, set in Caledonia, Minnesota.

Every March an author or illustrator of children's books comes for a "visit" to talk about his/her creative process. Authors and illustrators who have come are: Ann Monson, Peggie Carlson, Harry Potter illustrator, Mary Grandpre, Kate DiCamillo, Karen Ritz, Terry Hokenson and Jane Resh Thomas.

This is an informal event with opportunities for participants to talk with author/illustrator guests. The event is free and open to the public. Feel free to bring a bag lunch. Beverages and cookies are provided.
