Montessori Education
Montessori Teacher Education at Your Site
No matter where in the world you are, if you have a sufficient number of committed students, the Center for Contemporary Montessori Programs can offer Montessori teacher education courses at your site. We work with public school districts, individual schools, charter schools and other organizations.
The Center’s off-campus programs provide Montessori teacher education, the MAED, and whole school transformation. Intensive workshops and staff development programs are available and a distance-learning component will be ready soon.
The program can be offered in a number of calendar variations, generally over a two-or three-year period. The center will provide all instruction at your site, masters for all handouts, syllabi and all textbooks.
An off-campus program requires a group of 25-40 committed, qualified students and a sponsoring agency, such as a Montessori school, college or school district. The Center develops a proposal tailored to your needs and the sponsoring agency has financial responsibility. We send the proposal to the contact person at the agency and, upon approval, a contract is drawn up.
Students in off-site programs must meet the same admission requirements as the home campus and must submit the same
application materials.
The host site or sponsoring agency is responsible for meeting all financial commitments, providing an acceptable site and providing all required Montessori materials. In all cases, in the United States or abroad, some form of governmental approval will be required. This may take up to a year.
The site must provide a qualified, Montessori-credentialed person to act as on-site course coordinator.
