AM2 Web-based Experience

After you complete the initial weekend experience on the College of St. Catherine campus, you’ll participate in a nine-month web-based learning experience. In AM2, online learning does not mean learning by yourself. You’ll continue on with a lively group-learning experience that began on campus.

During this part of the program, learning will take place via easy-to-use, web-based software (Blackboard and Media Site). You will get an introduction to these applications during the initial face-to-face weekend experience on campus.

Technology Requirements and Skills

If you’re comfortable with basic computing hardware, software and Internet usage, you already have the tools you need to learn in AM2. You do not need to be a computer expert.

You will need a computer with an Internet connection (not dial-up). A high-speed internet connection is preferred. In addition, students should be proficient in basic word processing, Internet use, Internet searches, accessing e-mail, attaching files in e-mail, opening attachments in e-mail and other basic computer literacy.

During the initial weekend experience on the campus, you will be introduced to the web-based learning that will take place in the following nine months. Please bring:

  • Laptop computer - if you do not have a laptop, you may use a computer at one of the college's computer facilities
  • Ethernet cable - 10' or longer (CAT 5 or 6 RJ-45 cable)
  • Flash drive
