Application and Registration

Admission

  • You should have either a high school diploma or a general equivalency diploma (GED) to pursue studies at the St. Catherine University.
  • You are eligible for an Associate American Montessori Society (AMS) teaching credential for Early Childhood until you get your Bachelor's degree.
  • You will need a bachelor's degree if you are applying for admission to the Montessori Elementary program.
  • If a master’s degree applicant’s cumulative undergraduate GPA is less than 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, the Graduate Education Admission Committee will review her/ or his file. Additional information, such as GRE scores, may be required.
  • To be a candidate for the Montessori Elementary credential (without Master's Degree), you must hold a baccalaureate degree with at least a 2.5 cumulative undergraduate GPA.
  • If you are applying to the AM2: Online Master's Program, check the AM2 Admissions page for specific details.
Non-credit Credential Option
For those who don’t want the benefits of university credit, you can earn an Early Childhood or Elementary AMS credential at a lower cost. Please call the Center for Contemporary Montessori Programs for more details at 651-690-6001. A different application form is used for this option.

To help you pay for your education, St. Catherine University-Minneapolis offers a comprehensive financial aid program, which includes grants, loans and campus employment.
