Welcome to the English Department Web site. The major program, providing a choice among three areas of concentration, permits a student to choose courses to meet her interests and career expectations. Whatever the area of concentration, a student will work closely with an adviser to plan a course of study that includes literary traditions and critical approaches to them, an in-depth study of at least one major writer, an examination of the development of the English language and a focus on the process of writing. The interdepartmental communication major with a written concentration is also available. |
